I have updated Nick's Room page and included photos! Ceiling finished. First coat of first colour up. Unfortunately the temperatures are so cold that drying time is doubled. Will have to get up very early tomorrow morning to get a second coat on, so that it can have atleast four hours drying time before removing the masking tape and taping over new paint so I can put the first coat of second colour on in the afternoon. Still on target for graffiti art to be done on Saturday..... however, I haven't done any of the planned jobs in the courtyard or weeded the front garden :(
Manor Terrace was designed by Francis William Petre, a noted New Zealand architect, for the then owner of the prestigious Dunedin Club. The building was completed in 1879. I bought one of the residences in 2008 with great intentions, an abundance of enthusiasm but little time, few skills and even fewer dollars. Eighteen months later and very little has changed. This blog is a digital diary, charting my progress in restoring this beautiful gothic labour of love.
